Planning an afternoon wedding can be a tricky feat when it comes to figuring out formalwear, especially when considerations for the weather must also be taken. Tiffany Smith knew she wanted to have a winter wedding, so a wedding dress with sleeves and gold lace cuff detailing was a natural fit. Navy blue Ike Behar Sebastian tuxedos and champagne-colored bowties for Matthew and his groomsmen had them dapper for a formal wedding yet still appropriate for the time of day and season. Smith’s lace cuffs were echoed in their paper goods suite, and the iridescent color was also reflected in the bridesmaids’ dresses. “The navy suits [were] the perfect combination of formal and laid back.” She describes their wedding style as “bohemian elegance,” evident by her choice of cathedral-length veil, which was later swapped for a lush floral crown.
Tiffany and Matthew decided to work with Street Tuxedo to source Matthew’s and his attendants’ attire, based on many friends’ recommendations. Katie and Tiffany discussed the design choices and colors that had already been selected before recommending how to outfit the men. “Formality is also important: “Style, fabric and color are a complete [matter of] personal preference, but I would be mindful of the setting where the wedding is taking place. When it came to Matthew’s wedding, the navy was perfect for the late- winter cathedral wedding.”
Tiffany and Matt opted to upgrade for the wedding day concierge service offered by Street Tuxedo. “Most of our groomsmen were out of town and that made fittings difficult. Street Tuxedo came to our hotel before our rehearsal and fitted all of the guys and did all alterations. They delivered the suits the next morning and helped get all of the men ready,” she says. It is really the best option for weddings that have a tight schedule and a lot of out of town people.”
“Matthew and Tiffany were such a pleasure to work with. [They are] one of the most easygoing couples, so I wasn’t surprised when they went with a navy tuxedo. Their wedding was very pretty and formal, but still had a fun feeling to it,” Katie says. The bride is perfectly content looking back at their wedding day: “The day was a perfect representation of me. We wanted it to be as intimate as possible and I think you can see my personality in every detail of the day. It was all decided on with purpose and meaning and I was so excited to see that come to life.”
