Tarah and Colin had a stunning wedding day on May 6, 2017 in gorgeous Key West, Florida. The special day was beautiful and full of the couples’s fun-loving personality. “We wrote our own silly and sentimental vows, we ate delicious foods and drank yummy beverages, we listened to hilarious, touching toasts from our wedding party and family, and our first dance was SO FUN.” It was a day that they will cherish together for the rest of their lives.
Tarah and Colin met for the first time at Lemon Bar in Jacksonville, Florida. Tarah’s father, Richard, had met a group of young ladies at the bar who had friends from law school coming to join them later on. Colin happened to be one of the law students; he sat next to Tarah and they spent the afternoon together. His pickup line to get Tarah’s phone number will be forever remembered; he said, “So, I know this is awkward, because your dad is right there, but uh… Can I have your number?” The rest was history!
For the proposal, Colin knew that Tarah would want to be surrounded by friends and family during the magical moment. The plan was for everyone to meet at the couple’s favorite restaurant, Taco-Lu, in Jacksonville. Colin had to keep Tarah from getting suspicious, because they lived in Tampa at the time. Thankfully, the couple kept their season tickets for the Jacksonville Jaguars after their move from Jacksonville, so the plan was set for a weekend during football season. On the day of, it started to rain, but Colin and Tarah’s friends thankfully secured a community table in the bar area that could hold the entire group. As soon as Tarah and Colin entered the bar, she knew what was happening. “My plan had worked. The goal of her walking in in front of me, seeing everyone, and turning around to find me down on one knee with the ring came together perfectly.”

The first time that Tarah and Colin saw each other on the wedding day, they were completely in awe. “He looked so happy and proud and I was elated and so excited to have my Prince Charming looking at me the way he was. I couldn’t believe that this day was really happening “– Tarah. “I couldn’t help but to shed a tear of joy because I knew that someone so beautiful and wonderful was walking towards me, and only me. I felt just about every positive emotion possible, happiness, pride, excitement, etc. You name it, I felt it in that moment.” – Colin.
The wedding design had a southern classic inspiration with a twist. Tarah and Colin both wanted to include small details that were antique, handmade, or special to them as a couple in some way. Colin loves the Tarhell Blue shade, so the incorporation of this color into the design was meaningful for him. This was paired with soft, beautiful hues and lots of greenery. It was absolutely stunning and timeless with an island chic feel!
The wedding day was full of unforgettable moments. The beautiful couple gifted each other with special presents that they will forever cherish. Colin gave Tarah a stunning gold and diamond bracelet, and Tarah gave Colin a Tissot Watch, which they both adored. The couple also received the gift of becoming Godparents to their close friends’ new daughter. They were asked at the rehearsal dinner and were completely overjoyed! Also, Colin was completely thrilled that his ninety-seven-year-old grandfather was able to attend the wedding from Virginia as well as friends from college that he hadn’t seen in several years. The wedding was an incredible day with an abundance of gifts and love. Congratulations, Tarah and Colin!
