Alan and Brett had a beautiful Nashville wedding day at the perfect location for their special day, Vanderbilt’s Dyer Observatory. The handsome couple met as Vanderbilt students in 2003 when the idea of marriage did not seem possible for them at the time. After graduation, Alan and Brett were not together for several years as Brett moved to San Francisco. However, Alan sent Brett a text to set up dinner plans. “He told me he was thinking of moving to San Francisco to take a new job, and everything rather simply fell into place after that. He and Winston (the dog) moved into my house shortly thereafter. We knew we never wanted to be apart again. In fact we believe it was FATE!! And we feel very blessed to be together.” After their engagement, Alan and Brett contacted wonderful Nashville documentary wedding photographer, Jay Farrell Photography, to capture their unforgettable wedding day. It was the perfect match! Jay Farrell naturally captured all of the love and joy that was present on Alan and Brett’s lovely wedding day.
Alan and Brett now live together in the South of France. When Alan found out that he needed to move overseas, the threat of being apart sped up their engagement process; they knew they were soulmates and were ready to tie the knot. The wedding day was absolutely beautiful as Alan and Brett were surrounded by family, friends, and a wonderful photographer to capture each tender moment in a natural, unposed way. Jay Farrell’s documentary style captures the love and light that this beautiful couple organically shares. The venue, The Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory, is located on a steep hill away from the hustle and bustle of the city, making it the perfect location for stargazing. “Alan and Brett are both Vanderbilt graduates and always took an interest in the observatory, so it only made sense for them to use it for their Nashville wedding venue!” – Jay Farrell Photography
Alan and Brett’s wedding day had a beautiful, natural feel with classic white and green design elements for a fresh, clean ambiance. Their floral design featured a pop of blue for an additional gorgeous touch. For their cake topper, they had adorable matching Legos and a dog to add a touch of their personality as a couple, which we love! Also, the wedding day was the first time that Jay Farrell and Alan and Brett had the opportunity to meet in person after conversing from France to the United States back and forth, so this was an exciting moment. “I’m honored that they put their trust in me as a proud LGBT friendly wedding photographer” – Jay Farrell Photography. Alan and Brett’s beautiful wedding photos by Jay Farrell Photography will allow them to relive this magical day for the rest of their lives!
