Serving wedding guests late night snacks at your reception is becoming widely popular and it’s easy to see why. Surprising your guests with mini versions of their favorite guilty pleasures is hard to resist. It also ensures your guests have a wonderful time from beginning to end and leave happy! We spoke with Bill Hansen Catering to find out what makes a great late night snack and how you can incorporate this trend into your wedding.
Really any food can be served as a late night snack. The best foods to serve are comfort foods and sweets like mini tacos, sliders, churros, milk and cookies, doughnuts, and the list goes on. The main thing you need to remember is to keep the servings small. Your guests have usually already ate a meal and enjoyed a few cocktails by the time late night snacks show up so don’t overwhelm them with huge portions.
You also want your snacks to blend in with the rest of the tone of your wedding. Mini foods are fun to play around with as far as the presentation goes. You can have a server carry trays of small snacks around the room or designate a table where guests can choose what snack they want. You can also serve your snack in paper boats, parchment paper, or on a clothespin like these mini s’mores below!
Choosing to serve a late night snack at your reception is a chance to have fun and be creative in your wedding planning. Think outside of the box and think about how you can customize your snack to reflect you and your groom’s personality. Your guests will love the personal touches and it will be a special moment for you to look back on years down the road.
