Natalie and Laine had instant chemistry from the very beginning. Their first meeting in Southern California consisted of watching the sunset and talking until 3 a.m. Being the Southern gentlemen that he is, Laine asked Natalie’s parents for permission to marry her months in advance. And the romantic plan was set in motion.
Laine knew by their third date that Natalie was the one, and planned to include their favorite place in the proposal. Many of their dates consisted of walking on the beach at Pelican Rock soaking in the gorgeous California sunsets over the water, and talking for hours. On September 23, 2014 they planned to meet friends for dinner, but took in one more sunset before heading to the restaurant. As they were walking on the beach, Laine recounted their third date and got down on one knee. They kicked off their engagement with a European adventure (gentlemen take note)!
They were married months later at Mint Springs Farm in an elegantly rustic ceremony … They kept the ceremony simple, with greenery, white roses, and a chandelier above the altar. For the reception they played up the barn setting with deep pinks and purples. They displayed photos from their engagement session throughout the reception space. Columns were draped with fabric, lanterns were hung, lace runners were placed on farm tables, and candles lit up the night. During the cocktail hour, guests awaited for the couple’s entrance by playing corn hole and snacking on Jack Daniels BBQ chicken.
…
Natalie gave us a glimpse of seeing her groom for the first time, “Walking down the aisle, I knew I wanted to focus my eyes 100% on Laine and not anyone else. Immediately upon entering the pavilion, I saw his reaction as he dropped to his knees and started to cry. I was so thrown off by his reaction, I got nervous that I would start to lose it … I couldn’t believe how incredibly handsome he looked and was so thrilled this day and this moment was finally happening … I was ecstatic to finally become his wife.”
Laine described seeing his beautiful bride as, “My main feelings when I saw you were…lightning. I have never felt the overwhelming joy of seeing such a beautiful site at that moment. Knowing that you would be my wife, literally minutes from the time the doors were drawn back. The most beautiful site – the feeling was “true”. I can’t explain it other than, at that moment, it was like everything in my life came in focus …. everything was perfect and has been since.”
