Every wedding requires a well-dressed groom. While the focus traditionally tends to be on what the bride is wearing, “You’re the Batman and [your groomsmen] are Robin,” says menswear expert Sebastian Garcia of My Groom’s Room.
Amanda Torres and Robert Fernandez knew they had to work with My Groom’s Room for their early fall wedding in Boca Raton, Florida, after Robert had a wonderful experience with them in a friend’s wedding when he was a groomsman. “He was pleased with their attention to detail and their ability to customize suits and tuxedos just the way you want them. Their variety in colors and fit was also a deciding factor,” says Torres.
Torres wanted a soft palette – “not overwhelming; [something that] played well with the simple look we were going for of clean, timeless colors” – for their evening affair at The Addison, which has a “timeless” feel about it. She selected a soft pink for bridesmaids’ gowns and paired it with gray suits for the groomsmen.
The couple went more formal for their own attire. “I had a long-sleeved lace gown and Robert wore a two-toned tuxedo,” she describes. “By having an outdoor wedding in South Florida we decided to forego traditional black tuxedos. We went with a medium gray for the groomsmen; one that could be worn again to any other function, day or evening. The suits worked well for a summer wedding but they will also work well for any time of the year, plus, they photographed really well with the natural sunset hues.” Robert’s midnight blue peak lapel tuxedo was perfectly fitting for his personality, too. “He is not one to be over-the-top but still tends to make his own mark. We both respect tradition but often make it our own.”
The stylists at My Groom’s Room “wanted to ensure Robert stood out from everyone” with his lightweight wool tuxedo. The fabric has a patent for water and stain resistance, and it is wrinkle-free and very breathable. “His shirt was Egyptian cotton, [with a] finer yarn and more threads than a regular cotton shirt, resulting in an extremely taut weave in the fabric. It fits with the season and no doubt it’s a statement piece.”
“The team at My Groom’s Room was so easy to work with. They offer quality suits at great prices, the suits and tuxedos are made to fit each individual, and when considering the option to buy or rent, My Groom’s Room made the decision easy for us. A great suit or tux is a great investment. Own it!”
