Tips For A Flawless Rehearsal Dinner

The days are being checked off towards the beautiful wedding day, but there is still one very important, special event to attend before walking down the aisle, the gathering of loved ones at the rehearsal dinnerWe gathered some great advice from wedding planner, Shari Zatman of Perfectly Planned by Shari, to share with you brides for a seamless, beautiful rehearsal dinner.

You may be asking who should attend the rehearsal dinner. Rehearsal dinners can be attended by a small, intimate group of immediate family and bridal party to a larger event including all guests coming from out of town. The size of the rehearsal dinner is mainly decided by the bride and groom.

When styling a rehearsal dinner, Shari Zatman suggests staying away from the style of the wedding. “If it is just a small group then it can feel intimate, but even if you have a large group it should not feel like a repeat of what guests will experience the next day at the wedding.” If the wedding will be very formal, Shari Zatman recommends making the rehearsal dinner a little bit less formal. And of course, have fun with it! The rehearsal dinner can be thematic. “I once did one that that was Asian themed because the couple loves to eat at Chinese restaurants.”

The vision of the rehearsal dinner can be completely up to the bride and groom ranging from size to style to location! Perfectly Planned by Shari mostly finds that rehearsal dinners take place at a restaurant or a hotel venue. If a lot of guests are attending the rehearsal dinner, then think about utilizing assigned seating for a seated dinner. However, if the rehearsal dinner is a casual cocktail style reception, then assigned seating may not be necessary.

The rehearsal dinner is also a great opportunity for speeches! “The wedding should be limited to parents, best man and maid/matron of honor speeches so this is the time to open the floor for more speeches.”

The rehearsal dinner is such a wonderful celebration full of love and gathering of cherished friends and family. We wish you a beautiful rehearsal dinner from Enchanted Brides and Perfectly Planned by Shari!
