Miami, Nashville, and everywhere in between… there’s a national thing to celebrate this month and it actually does not have to do with cake, ice cream, or everything else this sweet tooth wants. August brings us National Peach Month! Living in the South, we get to bite into some of the most delectable peaches the country has to offer (thanks Georgia!) and with such an access to them, it only makes sense that peaches pop up everywhere in weddings. From colors, to signature drinks, to Southern-inspired cuisine. So here’s some peachy inspiration for you to sip on from color combos to splashes of the fruit! And I’m going to run out and fetch me a fresh batch.
Peachy Tablescape!
I love the way that peach can bring such warmth to a reception table. Mixing the peachy roses with pinks, whites, and greens really lightens things up but keeps everything universal and uniformed. The tablescape on the left even incorporates the fruit as a place card holder- how sweet is that! I also love the combination with mint! There does not seem to be any more color combo that combines all things wonderful and soft about the South.

Color So Soft
I love how peach can be done very bright or very reserved. The above stationary keeps things very soft that almost allows for peach to become a cream or white- a neutral to build off of. Peach does not have to overwhelm your wedding design, but can be added to pull in a little more color if you are in between what colors to choose. And how glamorous is this gold cake with the soft addition of peach?
Peach So Delicious
When hosting your wedding in the South, it is almost tradition (no, it is tradition) to serve up some Southern cuisine. If fried chicken or BBQ is not your cup of sweet tea, peaches can be a great way to tie that tradition in. You can choose to do an hors d’oeurves such as Prosciutto Wrapped Peaches with Sorgham (read our Middle Tennessee magazine for the recipe!) or create a signature drink (peach martini anyone?) or incorporate the sweet fruit into a layer of your wedding cake or using an old family recipe for a cobbler! The limits are endless but ask your caterer or baker the different ways they can use the fruit!

Dress to Impress
Peach can also be the perfect color for your bridesmaids. When it comes to incorporating your wedding day color, sometimes it can be hard to decide what dress to put your bridesmaids in because everyone has a different skin tone and body type- some colors work better than others. Thankfully, peach is one of those colors that really can work for any skin color. The ladies below prove that peach can be elegant and beautiful, and compliment the bride rather than distract from her! You can also add peach to your own wedding day attire by popping it in your shoes or accessories.

As all of the photographs prove, peach can be sweet…very sweet. I love this color for a wedding because it is so romantic and soft. And not to mention, Southern! Hope this brings some inspiration for your own Southern Affair.
Keep it peachy!
