Of course, when planning your wedding day look, the first thing you look to is your dress (as would I) but it is important to not let your wedding day jewelry fall to the wayside. When it comes to picking out your wedding day accessories, it completely comes down to personal taste. Whether you love flashy, sparkly earrings or prefer classic pearls, each decision you make when accessorizing your gown comes from your personal style.
I personally recommend keeping to a style that is truly “you”. If you never wear earrings and all of a sudden you have chandeliers dangling from your ears, it might not produce the look you had envisioned your whole life. Keep to your sense of style and your jewelry will complement you rather than contradict you.
Of course, as there is with anything having to do with weddings, there are certain trends popular today with wedding jewelry. We chatted with Jill of Jill’s Regalia (located in fabulous Key West) to find out what is “hot hot hot” in wedding jewelry today.
Statement earrings have been blowing up in the fashion industry, and same goes for weddings. Statement earrings are a fun way to bring emphasis to your face and bring in sparkle or color. I love statement earrings with hair classically pulled back into a french twist or classic bun.
Vintage family Heirlooms are another popular trend in weddings today as they tie in the “something old” and “something borrowed” and many brides like carrying a piece of their family with them down the aisle. Some Heirlooms are exquisitely designed and may compliment a modern day affair. I love this idea for accessorizing, as does Jill. Jill can always design custom jewelry around a family heirloom to make pieces that match. Something old, and something new!
Again, Jill mentions classic pearls and diamonds are always in style. One can never go wrong with classic pieces!
Whatever you choose for your wedding day jewelry, you will shine! Stay true to yourself and you are sure to light up the room.
