A Hidden Gem of Nashville

When you walk onto the grounds of the East Ivy Mansion located in East Nashville, you don’t just walk onto a beautifully landscaped property, you walk into a whole other world. Beautiful architecture reminiscent of a Tuscan villa transport you to an Italian getaway right in the heart of Music City. There are incredible features at every turn that offer the perfect location for your Nashville wedding whether you reside in Middle Tennessee or come here for a destination affair.

A Sparkling Begininning

East Ivy Mansion was built in 1867 and was first owned by Tennessee native Senator Henry Cooper. The Senator frequented the mansion when spending his time teaching as a professor at the Cumberland School of Law. Continuing its long history and ever changing owners, East Ivy Mansion has remained a mainstay of the Edgefield district, surviving the Great Fire of 1916 and a devastating tornado in 1933. It is one of the few original historic properties in Nashville, and many of the home’s features are original. Walking through the big white doors, you walk back in time into a glamorous Southern home.

A Wedding to Remember

Sectioned off with brick walls, the East Ivy Mansion can host your entire weekend. From the home that can sleep up to sixteen to a sparkling pool to incredible grounds that would make for amazing ceremony and cocktail reception spots, there is plenty of variety that East Ivy Mansion can offer brides and grooms. The scenery of the home and grounds provide the perfect backdrop for any type of affair, but our favorite style with the mansion is letting it do the talking with simple decor and details.

Photographer Allen Clark of The Life Lens felt that the best way to capture the magic was through the mansion itself. Simple, clean, classic.

TablescapeReception

I love the use of the gold and white. Gold is one of the hottest trends in weddings right now both here in Middle Tennessee and all over the country, even down in our other home- South Florida! Gold can be done in an extremely sophisticated way that makes your reception timeless. I love the pairing with white and green to keep everything very elegant and Southern chic.

Ceremony

The outdoor space is the perfect location for a romantic and secluded ceremony. Hidden behind the brick walls and draping ivy, it is the perfect place to exchange “I Do’s” ! I also really love the use of cream on clear chairs to contrast the nature of the space just right. Floral designer Lauren Marie Atkinson kept things gorgeous with pops of purple in Blake’s bouquet.

Blake & Brian Nutter are a real-life couple residing here in Nashville. Brian, the guitarist for Country Superstar Keith Urban, looked absolutely dapper in Street Tuxedo‘s Providence Tuxedo while his blushing bride Blake stunned in Karen Hendrix Couture. We are so excited for the couple who actually got married this past May, their love is irresistible!

To keep along with the classic and romantic feel, Music City Dream Cars provided the Rolls Royce Ghost to top off the elegant affair.
