As many of you are already well aware, reality queen Kim Kardashian finally said “I Do” to her very own Prince Charming, Kanye West, over the weekend in a beautiful fortress in Florence, Italy. Must be nice. And although we could all spend hours fawning over every detail of the wedding, we all know the most important one: the dress. Kim wore custom Givenchy for her big day, and in my opinion, it could not have looked better.
Designer Riccardo Tisci posted the beauty on his Instagram.
In honor of Mrs. West’s big day (and even bigger dress), I have rounded up a few of the most memorable wedding dresses of celebrity royalty’s past (oh, and actual royalty too!) that have stood the test of time. Let the swooning begin!

The dress Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton wore will forever be breathtaking. Designed by English designer Sarah Burton (who is the creative director for Alexander McQueen), the dress screams elegance and sophistication. She has never looked more beautiful!

I couldn’t have a blog post without including a bride getting hitched in Tennessee! I absolutely love the romance of Kelly Clarkson’s Temperley London gown. It is southern chic romance perfection.

You simply cannot have a “best wedding dress” list without including the queen of glamour herself, Ms. Elizabeth Taylor. She wore this beauty to her first marriage to Nicky Hilton. Designed by MGM costumer Helen Rose, this dress would still make jaw drops today with its satin sweetness that fits just right. Simple, classic, timeless.
(Oh, and it was a gift from MGM Studios. Talk about a wedding gift!

I really credit Jessica Biel with going outside the box on her wedding to Justin Timberlake. She took color, embraced it, and made it both classic and unique. The Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dress reinvents classic as she handles the color trend by keeping everything else simple. She could not have done it better! You might have ruled out color, but Ms. Timberlake may make you think otherwise.

Finally, it doesn’t get more royal than Ms. Jackie Kennedy. That satin, the pleating, the lace veil… it is jaw-dropping. This gown, designed by Ann Lowe, will remain in women’s minds until the end of time. No one did classic better than Jackie O.
I know I just sparked dress frenzy. Use these timeless beauties to help you guide your own search for “the one”. The dress that is. And maybe one day you’ll make it on this list too.
