Julie Shreck of Simply You Weddings with floral designer Rick Interian of Avant-Gardens created Southernmost Romance at the Southernmost House in Key West, Florida.
Key West’s the Southernmost House is as opulent as it once was more than a century ago. Steeped in a rich history, this jewel is the perfect place to host an elegant affair. An eclectic Cuban inspired event is a perfect way to marry the authentic jewel tones, gorgeous textures and ornate details of this historic mansion as well as the unique flair of Key West’s history.
The Southernmost House is an architectural icon that embraces the colorful island of Key West. The exterior of the house reflects the colors of a morning sky, the ocean, and the breathtaking sunsets. The interior is about the rich Spanish culture that influenced the history of Key West.
The ceremony setting is the steps of the warm and welcoming Southernmost House that is rich in history. The colorful glow from the Cherry Blooms trees cast warmth to a surreal moment. The floral designs add beauty and romance to the scene. Clustered groupings of pink and purple hydrangea, red roses, black baccarat roses, pink spray roses, yves piaget garden roses, green trick dianthus, green cymbidium orchids, and local fruit from screw pine tree.
Décor items such as the table and chairs are from Avant-Gardens’ home imports division made of reclaimed teak from old boats imported from Indonesia. The LED trees are available for rent creating a fantastic romantic atmosphere. Each tree contains over 1,200 individual Cherry Blooms.
The Ruby Blusher headpiece by Can Can Couture is a jewel-toned flower made of layers of organza, silk and taffeta petals. A vintage brooch and a cluster of Swarovski crystals in the center and finished with a dyed to match veil of Russian netting. The Crème Fascinator is a satin caplets covered with embroidered tulle and a matching rose. Framed with bustle of Russian veiling decorated with Swarovski jewels and topped with a spray of feathers.
The invitations and paper products by Invites by Danette are all paper items are acid-free archival paper. All products are handmade. The cigar box is an authentic Cuban Cohiba box, lined with a hand-sewn satin pillow.
The jewelry designed by Jill’s Regalia have Swarovski crystal and blush pink fresh water pearls bracelet and matching earrings. Multi gem stone bracelet and matching earrings. Including the following semi precious and precious stones. (Emerald, topaz, citrine, amethyst, turquoise and Lapis.)
The bridal gown is elegant and fun! The bodice is blush in color with crystals and pearls. The layering of the skirt is whimsical and graceful. The cake resembles the skirt of the bridal gown. Designed with layers and layers of icing to give a whimsical feeling to the event. Topped off with yellow orchids.
As the evening comes to a close it’s ‘Cigar Time’. The bride and groom follow Key West tradition of cigar and wine. The perfect ending to an eclectic Cuban inspired event!
