St. Patty’s Day Lucky Recipes

St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday – or “holy day” – that most of us recognize as the day to wear green and celebrate the Irish culture. Although St. Patrick’s Day is not a legal holiday in the United States, it provides a day of festivities and celebrations for millions of Americans.

One of the most common practices in America include parades and drinking beverages. We spoke with our friends, Taylor and Max, at Red Spirits and Wine in Downtown Nashville for some festive drink recipes they have created. If you’re feeling particularly festive this year, try to mix up a few of these recipes:

The Irish Maid

2 oz. Jameson Caskmates Irish Whiskey
0.5 oz. St. Germain Elderflower
0.75 oz. lemon juice
0.75 oz. simple syrup
2-3 muddled cucumbers in shaker
1 cucumber wheel for garnish

The Jasmine

1.5 oz. gin (no specific gin, we used Pinckney Bend!)
0.25 oz. Campari
0.25 oz. Cointreau
0.75 oz. lemon juice
lemon peel for garnish

Rye Old-Fashioned

2 oz. Rye whiskey (We use Rittenhouse!)
2 dashes Angostura orange bitters
optional additional dash of Angostura aromatic bitters
1 sugar cube, crushed and mixed in
lemon peel for garnish

Tequila Sunrise

1.5 oz. tequila (We used Alto’s Plata!)
0.75 oz. orange juice
1.5 oz. Rose’s grenadine
1 maraschino cherry and orange zest for garnish

Moscow Mule

2 oz. vodka (We recommend Pickney Bend!)
4 oz Barritt’s ginger beer
0.5 oz. Rose’s lime juice

If you’re feeling lucky, try rounding up a few friends and playing some games! One that we’d suggest would be mixing all of the cocktails and having friends try each cocktail and guessing each of the ingredients!

Have a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day!
