Cassie and Chris were introduced by his hairdresser, Lindsey, who thought he was a catch, and wanted to set him up with someone great. Lindsey and her salon owner immediately thought of Cassie, who coincidentally grew up across the street from Lindsey. After meeting, Cassie and Chris became inseparable, and spent every day together. Lindsey was the ultimate matchmaker! Cassie and Chris knew early on that they never wanted to be without each other, and got married on April 2nd, 2016 in Key West, Florida.
The surprise proposal took place during a romantic weekend getaway to San Antonio. The night began with a fun comedy show followed by a beautiful dinner on the River Walk. After dinner, Cassie and Chris spotted a horse drawn carriage in downtown San Antonio. Chris knew this would be the perfect opportunity to pop the question, and quickly put a spontaneous plan together. As Cassie sat in the carriage, Chris asked the driver to “take a picture” of the two of them. The entire scene was actually being videotaped. As Chris dropped to one knee outside of the carriage, Cassie was so excited. Emphatic yes’s poured from Cassie while the entire event was being captured! It was the perfect surprise.
When Cassie and Chris saw each other for the first time at the gorgeous Pier House Resort and Spa, their hearts melted. From the bride: “The moment I saw Chris everything changed. All the chaos and my late arrival all left my mind. I couldn’t have been more relieved to see his smiling face at the end of the isle. He has always been the calm in the midst of my storms. As we walked back down the isle as husband and wife the first thing we said to each other was, “I love you most,” in unison. This is a game we play every single day. Who ever says, ‘I love you the most,’ first gets to be the only one that can say it for the entire day. We had joked about who was going to win our wedding day, and the tie could not have been a better way for it to turn out.”
From the groom: “As the double doors opened and the music began, the beautiful bride appeared. Her face glowed with excitement, which made my heart leap. Cassie kept the wedding dress a secret from me and seeing her for the first time in that dress, made the secret worth the wait. The dress and the beautiful bride were absolutely gorgeous.”
The beautiful wedding day was decorated in fuchsia, orange, and small splashes of aqua. Cassie wanted to make a bold statement with exciting colors. The gorgeous hues paired with the natural ocean in the background was everything she had hoped for. The centerpieces were tall and slender with lots of gorgeous orchids and peonies, which are Cassie’s favorite flowers.
The wedding day was extremely special. “While I was getting ready for the ceremony, Chris sent up a small package and a card up to my room with my mom. I loved that he sent me something special, but once I opened the gift I couldn’t help but cry. It was a glass block that he had engraved with the marriage prayer and our wedding date. The words in the prayer were everything I had wanted to pray during the months approaching our wedding, but I couldn’t gather the words. Reading this brought me back to where I needed to focus on and that was on the core of our marriage.”
Cassie and Chris had an absolutely beautiful Key West wedding day full of love and celebration. “It was a completely chaotic perfect day filled with lots of laughter, cocktails, and dancing!” We are so happy for this beautiful couple and wish them a lifetime of happiness!
