Victoria and David had a beautiful wedding day on April 1, 2016 at the Opryland Hotel. The ceremony took place in the Delta Pavilion with a gorgeous reception in the Magnolia Ballroom. Victoria and David were set up to meet on a blind date five years ago, and the rest is history!
Victoria and David planned to go to Destin, Florida for a family vacation when David planned to pop the question. David’s sister claimed she was ill, and that she and her husband were unable to make it, which was a complete lie. They asked Victoria and David to take their reservations. Victoria and David arrived at the Henderson Bed and Breakfast with a private dinner set up on the beach. They were completely secluded. After dessert, David got down on one knee at the table, and asked Victoria to marry him. She said yes!
The first time the bride and groom saw each other was an unforgettable experience. From the groom: “I had to look away to keep myself from crying. I didn’t want to get too lost in the moment, because I wouldn’t have been able to recover my emotions to carry on with our lighthearted ceremony.” From the bride: “I knew he would look handsome, but seeing David waiting on me at the end of the aisle is something one can not describe in words. A power of emotions came over me and that moment helped solidify my deep love and pure satisfaction I have with this incredible man I now call my husband.” Victoria and David shared their first kiss as husband and wife in the same spot that their very first kiss as a couple took place.
The location of the wedding ceremony was an indoor garden, so the focus of design and decor was left to the natural beauty surrounding the room. The reception space was designed with white hydrangeas and pale pink and ivory rose centerpieces. Ivory linens with chair covers and sashes coordinated with the romantic, pastel theme. The band also provided some stage lighting to enhance the beauty and romance of the room.
The wedding day was such a beautiful experience for Victoria, David, and their guests, who were from all over the world. The wedding took place on April Fool’s day, so Victoria and David had tricks and gags planned out for the day. Their officiant started the ceremony with a selfie, the ceremony was scripted and included the famous wedding speech from The Princess Bride, and the couple did a unity painting in place of the sand or candle ceremony. Their guests were not allowed to see what they painted until it was unveiled at the reception later on.
Victoria and David had an absolute perfect day celebrating their unity as husband and wife. Their fun, lighthearted wedding day was beautiful and romantic. We are so excited for this beautiful couple, and wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!
