Becca and Jen said their I do’s at the beautiful Ocean Key Resort and Spa in Key West, Florida on January 11th, 2014. Their beautiful love story began after they spontaneously met at Fab Lounge in Washington, DC. From here, it was true love that brought these two gorgeous women closer and closer together.
Jen proposed to Becca on a wonderful Saturday when the couple had plans to go to breakfast and Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Jen had planned to propose in the National Sculpture Garden after suggesting that they take their breakfast to go and eat in the park. This is the spot where Becca and Jen first said “I love you.” However, Becca replied that they had too much to do that day, and they needed to get a start on their errands. It was time to think of a plan b for the proposal, but Jen knew exactly what to do. After Becca and Jen got home, Jen cooked a nice dinner, put on some music, lit candles, and sat Becca down presenting her with a custom-designed photo album that detailed the history of their great relationship through pictures and a poem written by Jen herself. The last picture of the book was of Jen holding up a sign that read, “Will you marry me?” The rest was history!
Becca and Jen knew they wanted their wedding to take place somewhere with sand and palm trees, because the beach is one of their favorite places. Tropical, warm, different, and fun is what the two had in mind. “We had been to so many weddings at churches and ballrooms that we really wanted our ceremony/reception to stand out.” The wedding decor matched Key West’s special atmosphere – tropical, warm, and fun!
Each moment of the wedding day and each guest was truly special for Becca and Jen. “It was by far the best day of our lives.” Some of their most memorable moments include getting ready together and overlooking the ocean, walking down the aisle gathering a flower lei held by guests, and continuing their celebration with a fabulous after-party at Irish Kevin’s on Duval Street. Becca and Jen treasure the memories of their amazing wedding daily.
