HOW IT ALL BEGAN…They met through their best friends who were dating at the time, and it took Ann getting locked out of her friends house to seal the deal. Ann & Phillip were married March 15, 2015 in a fete to remember! The breathtaking Miami Beach Botanical Gardens set the stage for a “country glam” wedding.
HOW THE GROOM PROPOSED…The groom’s persistence over a months time, paired with patience, loyalty, and support one day at a time won her over. He carried her up the stairs and presented her with a ring he had been hiding until she said yes.
SWEET NOTHINGS SHARED ON THE WEDDING DAY…From Phillip to Ann:”I missed you. The worst part has been that you weren’t there to talk to about everything. I’m not nervous about the wedding or getting married, but not having you to talk to about everything that was going on was hard. From Ann to Phillip: Where have you been olive? I’ve been lonely (Olive is Phillip’s nickname).
DECOR…RVL Certified Wedding & Event Planning was used for the design and planning. It was the perfect mix of “country glam” and The Great Gatsby. The reception and ceremony had a vintage feel with sprays of gold. The alter was decorated with sprigs of baby’s breath and a white chandelier. The save the date cards and invitations were created with the help of the brides aunt, Amy Sherit, owner of Creative Marketing Concepts in Aventura, FL. The brides mother and grandmother created the centerpieces and table runners. Ilse Lopez (of RVL design) filled the vases with flowers on the day of.
“We were so fortunate that our friends and family from all walks of life and locations came to our special day. We literally had guests from 10-15 different states and countries in our limited guests list of 100 people! Of main importance were Phill’s grandparents who traveled from Michigan to attend this wedding despite explicit Dr’s orders to NOT FLY. They made it through and flew home successfully. Thank God. My Father, stepmother and siblings came all the way from Israel—one of my sisters had to ask for special leave from the Israeli Air Force to attend, while my other sister had to dodge Pre-Med Exams at UF in Gainesville. My brother had to do homework daily while he was visiting to avoid getting behind in school in Tel-Aviv. Last but not least, however, my grandmother’s best friend, whom I was raised knowing and loving as a second grandparent, surprised us all on this wedding day. She just walked in and waited for us to notice her in attendance (she is 80 years old and has also been advised that she should not fly.)”
THE DAY OF…Phill spent the day pool side with the brides brother and dad drinking, eating, and enjoying the Miami weather. They all had rooms at the Standard Hotel for several days. Ann spent the day preparing as all brides do for a long afternoon. Make-up, hair, photos… Having their family and friends on the property definitely helped eliminate a lot of back and forth phone calls and panic. Phill got ready with my brother and my dad in my dad’s room, while my sisters and I prepared in my room (my mom opted to prepare in her room). It went by fast and our live band really made the afternoon and evening SO SPECIAL! My good friend since elementary school, David Klein, had his band, The SoSos, play our wedding. It was an amazing gift and they are super sought after so we were very lucky! The day was emotional, beautiful, stressful, and relaxing all at the same time. After the Wedding, we walked to get Pizza with our family; I guess we were all too busy and excited to eat!
