One of the first decisions you need to make when planning a wedding is the design of your invitation. The invitation is the starting point for the overall look of your wedding and if designed right, can set the mood for the biggest day in your life. However, with invitations comes a variety of different styles, colors, fonts, papers… the list goes on and on. So where do you even begin? How can you ever choose?
I asked the wonderful team at Nashville’s Designs in Paper what they have been seeing in the wedding world here in the South as of late. The results? Gorgeous paper goods to reflect every type of couple! For the most part, Designs in Paper couples use the same style/theme for their invitations and their day-of paper goods (table numbers, menu cards, thank you cards). And then in terms of a trend in the overall theme, some big styles of invitations this year have been a return of the more classic style (think beautiful cursive and simple details). A couple of other trends they have spotted: gold-foil, watercolor, and organic (leaves, vines, laurel, etc.). Check out some amazing examples below!
Love the simplicity of these navy & white invitations. Very classic, very elegant!
Here is a great mix of trends wight he gold foil & classic calligraphy. And that monogram? Swoon!
Here’s a beautiful example of the “watercolor” trend mixed with the “organic” trend invitation. Is there anything more romantic than painted pastel flowers for a wedding at Cheekwood? I think not!
