One of the most memorable moments of any wedding celebration is the first dance between the bride and groom. Some are sweet and traditional, others crazy and choreographed, but no matter which route one goes, it is always a beautiful moment shared by family and friends.
With wedding season in full swing across the country, music streaming service Spotify decided to do some research on the most popular first dance songs. Researching 30,000 wedding playlists, these are the results.
1. At Last, Etta James
No surprise here that Ms. James’ popular song is number one. This song screams romance and has for its entire lifetime. It is all about finally finding the one you want to spend the rest of your life with.
“At last, my love has come along. My lonely days are over, and life is like a song”
& the rest are as follows:
2. I Won’t Give Up, Jason Mraz
3. You are the Best Thing, Ray LaMontagne
4. All of Me, John Legend
5. Better Together, Jack Johnson
6. A Thousand Years, Christina Perri
7. Everything, Michael Bublé
8. First Day of My Life, Bright Eyes
9. Then, Brad Paisley
10. Make You Feel My Love, Adele
I should say, I’m pretty surprised that Brad Paisley’s classic “Then” is the only country song on this list, there are so many good ones out there that would be perfect! Then again, it all comes down to you as a couple and what fits you best. My parents danced to “Everything I Do, I Do it For You” by Brian Adams and it couldn’t fit them more perfectly. Find a song that fits you best and tells your story. I promise there won’t be a dry eye in the room!
