Wedding Videography

Interview with Limelight Cinema

Read the Q & A with Gipsy from Limelight Cinema to learn about the importance of hiring a wedding videographer along with other tips and trends for brides in the process of planning their happy day.

What is the importance of hiring a videographer for your wedding day?
It is important to hire a videographer because only through video will you be able to capture all the sounds and movements of the day. You will be able to hear the laughter, music, and sounds of the day. A video brings to life all the photos in your photo album and all of the emotions of the day. This is a treasure that you will share for years to come with your family and love ones.

What are some tips for brides that will help them select a quality videographer?
First of all, make sure to see samples of their work. Also, find out the equipment they are using as to the cameras and audio. Find out the number of employees they are bringing to make sure that you get the coverage you are contracting for. Also find out if this is really a business or a hobby for them. That makes a great difference.

As a videographer, what are your favorite moments to capture?
One of my favorite moments is the ‘first look’. This is when the bride and groom see each other for the first time before the ceremony. This is a very precious and special time for them. It is a time of great emotion. Also, another of my favorite times is when the bride’s father first sees his little girl all dressed up in her gown. This moment is priceless.

What are the new trends that you are seeing in wedding videos?
Most brides and grooms are choosing the extended highlight video. This is a video that is about 15 to 20 minutes long. It is set to music and the voice over of the vows, toast etc. It captures the entire day like an edited movie.

Is there anything that you think brides should know about wedding videography that most do not know already?
A video is not a photograph. The time to edit a video is more time consuming because you are dealing with video, audio, movement, and special effects. Most well edited videos take about 16 to 18 weeks. The finish product is worth the wait.

Any tips to help brides look their best on film?
Just relax and let the professional capture every special moment of your day.

Does Limelight Cinema travel?
Yes, all over the US.

What is your favorite part of being a wedding videographer?
It is being a part of capturing all the special moments of a bride and groom’s wedding day. Then editing these moments into a movie for them to cherish. I love weddings, so I love being a part of the wedding day capturing all the moments.

Do you have any words for recently engaged brides?
Make sure to budget a video for your wedding. This is the best way to capture and preserve all the special sounds and emotions of your wedding day.
